The quest for the Brand Manifesto (1)

The quest for the Brand Manifesto (1)

I discovered an old letter from my great-grandfather yesterday. It was full of riddles and hints that will eventually sent me on a quest. I just know it will. He talks extensively about the Brand Manifesto, a renowned manifest that holds secrets to many of the world’s employer branding challenges...

Old suitcase

Last night I was at my parents’ house in their attic, looking for some old classroom pictures. I was bound to go to my high school reunion party in August and wanted to see what some of my old classmates looked like back then. I was going through one of the old suitcases, when I suddenly discovered a letter from my great-grandfather, Louis Pilet. The envelope read: “Follow your heart and let it take you to the meadows of Ireland”. I opened the envelope and started reading the handwritten letter of my great-grandfather to his son, my grandfather. It was full of clues, but when I read it, it wasn’t quite clear to me what he meant. He was telling him of this big, family secret – the Brand Manifesto – and how it changed his life. He did mention, however, that he wanted his son to go to Ireland when the time was right.

Meant to go

I went back to my own house and told my wife about the strange letter I found. “Maybe you were meant to go to Ireland” she said all of a sudden. “I’ll think about” I responded quietly. Of course I was already thinking about it: just the challenge I need. It would be a trip of a lifetime. A lot of things were still unclear, though: what was the goal of this trip? Was I meant to go in the first place? And where in Ireland exactly should I go and look for this big secret? As soon as I figure out what my great-grandfather meant with the hints in this letter, I’ll get back to you.
